Getting Started with Family Search

We are all on different levels when it comes to family history research. Some of you may have already dug deep into your roots, and others might not know what family search even is. Well, don't worry, I'm going to start at the very beginning.

The church has made everything EXTREMELY easy with the website familysearch.org. For our family reunion, we will be researching and entering names via family search, so it's a good idea to get familiar with the site. This video gives you the first steps to discover your family tree.

One hint: Family search doesn't list people who are living unless you add them yourself, so when you first pull up your family tree, it may end abruptly with your immediate family. If that is the case, you'll need to connect a few dots. Once you get back to deceased members of your family, it will tap into the churches database and complete your tree for you.
